An Introduction
Hi, welcome to publikworks. It’s so nice of you to stop by, may I offer you some refreshments. Coffee? A soft drink? Beer? Sit, sit, please.
In case you’re wondering, I’m a former copywriter / producer in advertising. Typically considered a round peg in a square hole, I have my own way of seeing things — slightly warped and a little skewed. It’s kind of the fun house mirror outlook on life. For me, everyday is a bad hair day. I enjoy doing laundry. I dream in Latin, although I don’t speak it. My dog’s name is Bart.
I tire easily, sleep too much, have a peculiar diet of Rice Krispies and butter cookies, and I shower daily. When shampooing, I don’t rinse and repeat, I just rinse. Well, I guess that about covers it. Thank you for your interest and I hope you’ll visit often. New posts will be added at least twice a week, if not more often. My fondest wish is to make each visit entertaining and worthwhile. Please let me know if I do. Or if I, you know, don’t.
Thank you. Please return your seat back to its full and upright position.
You’ve been added to my blogroll, and you’re not a friend. It’s like receiving a compliment, but not from your mother, your dad, or your partner. Reading your blog is truly enjoyable.

Woohoo, I’m honored, clownonfire. And nearly speechless. Thank you and thank you to WordPress for misdirecting you initially. I hope I don’t let you down.
You remember. I feel special.
Of course I remember. Not only are you special, but you’re my first reader who visited by mistake. That makes you my lucky charm : )
I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award ! If you have already won it well then you deserve to win it again duh ! http://wp.me/p1PCSn-7P
Aren’t you wonderful! Thank you, nevercontrary.
Although I haven’t read all of your posts, the ones I have are thoughtful, well-written and funny. To me, that’s a home run, not to get stuck in sports metaphors. Unlike much of the ‘personal blogging’ I read on the Innertubes, you remember that people are actually reading your words and you’re kind to your audience. Thanks for that and, referring to the first paragraph of your introduction, I think I’ll have a beer.
What a lovely compliment, thank you, RS! You made my day. I hope you’ll come back from time to time and say hi. It was a pleasure hearing from you. Oh, and let me get you your beer.
Great blog.
You know, I’m a fan of your blog, too. So, that means a lot. Thank you, Stephen.
so refreshing and funny, like the intro.
Thank you Ann Marie T. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
I really like your blog and look forward to reading your new posts. And I hope you won’t mind if I add you to the blog list on my blog, so that those who visit mine will have easier access here to yours ^_^
Mind? Heavens, no, I’d be honored. Thanks, Até.
I too enjoy doing laundry, nice to see that I am not the only one on the planet. I’m pretty sure it’s the smell of dryer sheets – gets me everytime.
Love the blog, keep it up!
Hi, Dalia. It’s the dryer for me — and all the heat. I love a pile of clean, warm clothes. Thanks for dropping in.
I really have been enjoying your blog. So much I wrote about it today in my own post — thank you for your inspiration: http://thewritesideofthepage.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/i-cant-compete-with-that/
It’s a pleasure. And a surprise, wow. Thanks, I’m flattered.
Great intro, i only rinse once too, twice is SO old fashioned. Slightly skewed is the only way to be, but dreaming in Latin???? I bow in deference, that is seriously interesting.
Telling us to rinse twice is just a way to make us use twice as much as we need, don’t you think? That way we buy twice as much shampoo. I’m not falling for it. Thanks, amonikabyanyuvva.
You write like I wish I could. :) I’m definitely coming back. Subscribing, in fact. If you have that enabled. Off to check!
I do and I’ll keep an eye out for you, pooja. Thank you, you’re sweet.
Yes, you do. Excellent blog. I also have a bad hair day every single day and Larry David is a bit on the creepy side. Wow, we have so much in common, I’ve got goosebumps. Enjoyed your FP post, congrats again.
You’re terrific, Maineiac, I loved your comments. Do you like Rice Krispies, by any chance?
If they are slathered in butter and marshmallow and cut into perfect little squares, then, heck ya. Otherwise, much too noisy.
You do. I will be back. It is sad that one must ‘happen’ upon a good humor writer. I hope we are headed out of the tunnel of despair and whining and into a lighter era.
No despair, I promise, and I’ll keep the whining to a minimum. Deal? See you when you return.
